Theresa Blackburn-Bartholomew,
Before and After School Programs
Mrs. Blackburn has always had a great love of children and thrives on expressing that love in her work. "They
keep me alive!", says Theresa. She worked as a teacher's aide of grades K-2 at the Mill Basson Montessori
School in New York City. She became part of the St. Helen's community, teaching in our Religious Education program
and taking on the immense responsibility of our Before and After School Program. She arrives here every morning
at 7:00am to tend the children and leaves at 6:00pm after all are safely home. (Of course we do let her have some
time for herself in between!) |
She enjoys travel and has visited much of the world with her husband, Lincoln, a retired engineer who worked at
General Electric. They have two sons - Brian and Andre - both graduates of St. Helen's at the University of Virginia
(Andre holds a Bachelor's Degree and Brian, his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees.) She is delighted to work with
Brian, our Computer Teacher, here at St. Helen's. Theresa is very proud of the solid foundation her children received
here at St. Helen's School through 8th grade.
She loves being part of this community and also enjoys cooking, sewing, and taking care of her family. She holds
certificates as a CNA, a licensed beautician and in fashion design. She also holds her certificate in Basic Religious
Education. |
