Jennifer Munro, Nursery/Pre-K, Spanish
Grades K-5
Jennifer grew up
in Colonie and attended Colonie Central High School. After graduating in 1995, she went on to receive an Associates
Degree in Early Childhood Education from Hudson Valley Community College. She furthered her education at the College
of St. Rose with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology. She
is certified to teach grades Pre-K - 6th.
Jennifer worked at the Pumpkin Patch Child Care Center in Guilderland for eight years before joining the faculty
and staff of St. Helen's. During her time at the Pumpkin Patch, she worked with preschool aged children, toddlers,
and infants. She also spent two years as the Assistant Director of the Center. Her greatest memories of teaching
at the "Patch" will always be working with her mother who was the assistant teacher in her classroom.
Jennifer spends most of her free time practicing and performing with the Schenectady Pipe Band in which she plays
the bagpipes. You can see her perform in various local parades and college graduations. She serves on the Board
of Directors for the band as well. During the summer she will be traveling throughout the Northeast and Canada
to compete in various pipe band competitions. The band has won such prestigious awards as the North American Champions
and the Eastern United States Champions for the level in which they compete. She is also on the Executive Committee
for the Capital District Scottish Games. This event is held Labor Day weekend each year at the Altamont Fairgrounds.
Jennifer resides in Troy with her two very cute, and very curious kitties. |
