Sister Joseph Mary, Third Grade
Sister Joseph Mary
grew up and received her early education in New York City. In 1963 Sister entered the Sisters of the Presentation
at St. Colman's. At that time Sister began her undergraduate studies. Sister earned her AA degree from Maria College
in Albany, and her BA in Sociology from Russell Sage College in Troy.
As a Presentation Sister, Sister Joseph Mary has been involved in all areas of child care. For three years Sister
had the privilege of working as a Missionary in Juneau, Alaska. There she was the Director of St. Ann's Day Care
Center. For eight wonderful years Sister worked with the |
people of Sacred Heart Parish in North
Albany as a Minister to the Elderly. In that capacity Sister was a much needed link between the parish, community,
social services, the health related services and the elderly people. Sister's job was to serve those in need as
they needed.
Sister Joseph Mary has taught at the elementary level in the following schools staffed by the Presentation Sisters:
St. Colman's in Watervliet, St. Ambrose in Latham, Sacred Heart in Albany, St. Paul the Apostle, and St. Helen's
here in Schenectady. At the present Sister is teaching the Third Grade in our Parish School and in our CCD program. |
