Thomas Styles, Fifth Grade
Mr. Styles has a BS in Elementary Education from the College of Saint Rose and a MS in Developmental Reading from
SUNY Albany. He holds New York State teaching certificates in Elementary Education and Mathematics 7-12. He has
over a decade of teaching experience at all levels Grades 1-8 in private and public sectors. He was recently honored
as Educator of the Week by News Channel 13 and appeared on regional television.
Mr. Styles has spearheaded Saint Helen's participation in the Nature's Classroom program, created a student written
St. Helen's School Newspaper, started a Summer Arts and Education Program during the month of August, and began
a school-wide Morning Assembly Program which he host. He directs an annual Senior Musical, and creates Saint Helen's
Annual School Yearbook.
Mr. Styles is also a freelance writer with numerous articles and essays published in regional and local markets
on Education and other topics. His first chapter book, Racing the Rope, for middle level readers was published
in 2007 by AuthorHouse. He continues to write, and looks forward to many future publications.
Mr. Styles has his two children attending Saint Helen's School. Anthony is in First Grade and Alyssa is in Fourth
Grade.
