AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
(Back to Registration Information)
1. This program is
for the child/children of working parents.
2. The service will be available on full and half days of school.
NO SERVICE IS AVAILABLE DURING VACATION TIME.
3. The program consists of:
a. Snack at 3:15 pm (e.g. cookies and juice)
b. Playtime (outside - weather permitting)
c. Homework
d. TV, board games, coloring, etc., until parents come.
e. Optional enrichment program
4. The pick-up time will be no later than 6:00pm. Any parent not adhering to this time will be charged $1.00 per
minute late charge. This must be paid either by check or cash to the After School Employee on duty at that time.
5. For fees see seperate pay schedule.
6. A family needed the After School Program only occasionally must send a note to school requesting the service
and the fee must accompany the request.
7. Children will be released only to the parent(s) or persons designated in
the original agreement. Under
no circumstances will a child be released to any (grandparent, uncle, aunt, and/or friend) unless this procedure
is followed. Only in case of an EMERGENCY should a parent call the school to give this information verbally.
Dear Parent / Guardian:
Over the years, St. Helen's has been blessed to have a great After School Program. Due to the increasing need for
excellent before and after school care for our children, St. Helen's has made significant enhancements to our existing
program building on the foundation of years past. We are making changes particularly in the areas of hours, staff
supervision, behavior guidelines and optional enrichment activities. We utilitzed parent input in coming up with
these changes.
More specifically we are in the process of doing the following things:
1. The Before School Program will be open at 7:00 am Monday through Friday. After School hours are until 6:00 pm.
2. There will be a Homework Room (Located in the Art Room) where students will work on homework with supervision.
3. Additional paid and unpaid staff is recruited to better address the student to staff ratio and supervision issues.
This includes the Parent Co-Op mentioned below.
4. Behavior guidelines and an entrance agreement should be reviewed and signed by both the parent and student.
This will enhance consistancy in supervision.
5. We are always planning for afternoon Enrichment Classes that are made available to ASP students. These will
be optional and paid for by parents in addition to regular ASP fees, on an interest basis. These classes are announced
in advance and hopefully begin in early October.
6. We have a Parent Co-Op program that gives parents the opportunity to voluntarily participate in the After School
Program. You or another family member may earn credits towards the tuition reduction program by volunteering 40
hours at St. Helen's School. These hours do not all have to be in the After School Program.
7. We have convenient payment options. The main objective in creating this plan is to make the bookkeeping easier
for both you and the program and to keep your cost down.
The 3 and 5 day packages are strictly for convenience and represent a significant savings, up to 10% or nearly
a free month's worth of service.
These packages that have been created may be billed to you through FACTS or you may pay for service on the first
of each month by cash or check.

These prices include
your use of half days, and represent a savings, if you need care during the 15 half days of the school year. You
may not be interested in a packakge, if you never use the half day service. A less expensive alternative may be
to use the "as-needed" rates. If you select a payment plan and you arrive after the scheduled time, you
will be charged an additional fee of $4.00 per hour.
